The plant located in Ensenada works from Monday to Monday, in three turns and processes more than 1,000 tons per day of waste generated by the million inhabitants distributed in 5 municipalities of intermunicipal management: La Plata, Ensenada, Brandsen, Berisso and Magdalena.
With the aim of replicating the best practices of this successful model for waste treatment in Río Negro, the provincial official talked to the company's authorities about the industrial treatment and final disposal processes, with machinery that provides technology and offers a final and sustainable solution to one of the major problems that the whole world is going through today: the treatment and final relocation of urban waste.
"Each Argentinean generates practically one kilo of waste per day, which totals 12,325,000 tons per year that must be treated and relocated in line with the environment", stated Sanguinetti and stressed the importance of establishing a difference between the separation of waste at source, which must be done by each neighbor at home, and industrial treatment and final disposal.
"The purpose is to adapt the system to the National Plan GIRSU RN, on the basis of Provincial Law No. 5491 of Integral Management of Urban Solid Waste in Río Negro", he stated and pointed out that the regulation establishes the objectives and procedures of environmental protection applicable to the Integral Management of Urban Solid Waste -GIRSU- in the Province, with the purpose of protecting the environment and the quality of life of the population.
