Río Negro attended the National Government's Hydrogen Interministerial Meeting

In representation of the Province, the director of the “Rio Negro Invierte” Agency, Gonzalo Medina Cabrera, attended the Interministerial Meeting on Hydrogen at Casa Rosada, to plan the improvements for the promotion of hydrogen in Argentina.

The first objective focuses on introducing the roadmap for the design of the "National Hydrogen Strategy 2030" taking into account all the basic work that was done in the country, plus what is currently being carried out in order to develop six (6) central points proposed with a federal strategy:

1. Global decarbonization 2022 - 2050: The role of low carbon H2. Scenario.

2. Argentine strategic interest in the development of H2-bc.

3. Demand. Growth and prospects of local, regional and global markets. Target markets for Argentina.

4. Production. Tech-eco and environmental feasibility of producing in Argentina. H2-bc colors oriented to target markets.

5. National added value and new regional economies: provision of nationally produced goods and services with federal localization throughout the value chain.

6. Tools to promote the creation of an H2-bc Economy in Argentine such as regulatory, fiscal, environmental and economic-financial devices.

In addition, work was done on the international intersectoral dialogue event on the status and prospects of the National Hydrogen 2030 Strategy where the Province could be the host in San Carlos de Bariloche in the coming weeks. There, Río Negro is actively participating in view of its advanced stage in the matter, being the only province so far in this intersectorial meeting.

Medina Cabrera explained: "Our active participation is very important because in Rio Negro we are at an advanced stage in terms of Green Hydrogen, supported by all the studies, activities and investments led by Fortescue Future Industries, which will necessarily be complementary to the actions taken at national level, mainly in terms of regulations".

Representatives of the National Ministries of Productive Development, Science and Technology, Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Environment and Sustainable Development, Transport, and the Federal Investment Council attended the meeting.
