The meeting took place as part of the "Presentation of the technological and project team of Fortescue", on technology for the production of green hydrogen, organized by the Government of Río Negro through the State Secretariat of Planning, in charge of Daniel Sanguinetti.

The provincial official highlighted the business level of the Australian managers in different areas, Michael Dolan and Stanislaus Knez, who were together with Marcelo Kloster, technical advisor of the National Ministry of Productive Development.

He also said that, in addition to exchanging information with local scientists, on Wednesday they will visit facilities of the National Atomic Energy Commission and Invap's nuclear and aerospace areas.

"The engineering teams from Australia and Argentina are working at an accelerating rate on the Rio Negro project; therefore, these two days are very interesting. This is the technology transfer event that Governor Arabela Carreras and the scientists announced to us," Sanguinetti stated.

He also mentioned that the Secretariat of Planning explained the actions carried out by the Government of Río Negro to ensure the execution of the project in Punta Colorada, Sierra Grande, and the whole Southern Region.

"The announcement from Glasgow, which surprised us with the investment planned for Río Negro, was on November 1st and this project took an extraordinary step forward due to the interest of Fortescue, the political decision of the Governor and the work of the Province", remarked Sanguinetti.

He also explained that this Tuesday the project for the approval of the Private Initiative of Fortescue and the setting up of the organization that will work on the implementation of the Free Trade Zone in Punta Colorada was presented in the Legislature.

He said that the project was presented in agreement of ministers, so it will be submitted to a single round of discussion and approval in the Legislature; and hoped that it will be approved after Easter.

"We only want Green Hydrogen".

Fortescue's executives described the company's global structure, the progress of its investments and diversification, which place it as a unique company in its holistic and pioneering vision in the energy sector.

"We are at the forefront of Green Hydrogen. We do not want to use any fossil fuels. We only want Green Hydrogen, not other colors," said one of them, summing up the company's position.

They highlighted that Green Hydrogen as a fuel is advancing very fast in the world and its demand "is the present", emphasizing the support offered by the province of Rio Negro to receive its production project in Punta Colorada.

"Our agenda aims at a world that in 2023 does not use fossil fuels anymore. Therefore, we are aiming at a production of 15 million tons by that year", they concluded.

The Secretary of Strategic Development of Río Negro, Mercedes Ibero, together with the Major of Bariloche, Gustavo Gennuso, legislators and other provincial and municipal authorities attended the meeting.
